Objectives

The LMQ Level 5 Advanced National Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management is designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the managerial, decision-making, and leadership aspects of the tourism industry. In addition, the course focuses on developing independent research and study skills, essential for working at a junior managerial level within the industry. This qualification is an excellent preparation for entering the workplace or as a stepping stone into final-year bachelor’s degree study.

Entry Requirement

This qualification is a stand-alone programme, but applicants must meet specific entry requirements:

  • LMQ Level 4 Advanced National Certificate in Hospitality and Tourism Management or an equivalent qualification at Level 4 or above.

  • Any qualification recognised by the NQF or QCF of the United Kingdom, or overseas qualifications that are judged by UK NARIC to be equivalent to a Level 4 qualification in the UK (or higher).

Progression

Upon successful completion of the LMQ Level 5 Advanced National Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management, graduates have a broad range of progression opportunities. These include further study options, such as the LMQ Level 6 Graduate Diploma. Additionally, as this qualification is equivalent to Level 5 (QCF/RQF), graduates are eligible for direct entry into Year 3 of Bachelor’s degree programmes. This provides a strong foundation for both continued academic study and career progression in hospitality and tourism management.

Duration

  • The qualification is designed to be completed within a minimum of 12 months for full-time study.

  • Centres must ensure that the Total Qualification Time (TQM) or National Learning Hours (NLH) requirements are met as outlined for the qualification.
